The Philippines is really a good destination for cardiac, cosmetic, dental and bariatric procedures. The prices are very competitive considering that the doctors have trained and practiced abroad. The doctors' and nurses' bedside manners are unmatched anywhere and they speak English really well. These last 2 qualities are what will distinguish the Philippines from the other countries in an industry where everyone is trying to come up with 5-star hotel-like health facilities and cheaper prices. I happen to be the organiser for IMTC 2007 (International Medical Travel Conference) to be held in Manila this Nov.
Had the opportunity to visit some of the top hospitals in Manila including asian hospital & medical center (parent company is bumrungrad hospital), the medical city, St Luke Medical Center and the World citi Medical Center.
IN particular, I was impressed with Asian Hospital and The Medical City for their wonderful facilities and specially catered wards/floors for the internatinal patient.  As a singaporean, you will find stark resemblance of Asian hospital with raffles hospital and TMC with Tan Tock Seng Hospital (one stop hospital with shops, food courts and etc)
 Am interested to find out about the perception of healthcare in Philippines..
