Universal health coverage

Some states like Massachusetts have been moving toward requiring/providing health insurance for all residents. It sounds like universal care may also be a topic of discussion at the national level with the next elections. What thoughts do people have on the kind of effect broader health coverage might have on medical travel?
Universal health coverage could boost medical travel
My thinking is that universal coverage is unaffordable at US rates and that in order to get close to that goal a variety of cost savings measured are going to be needed. Existing tools, such as high co-pays, consumer directed plans, prior authorization, disease management and health care IT don't get us there. It will be interesting to see if the topic comes up in the Presidential election.
As an aside, an analysis I'd like to see is what the potential impact on US health care costs would be as a result of utilizing medical travel, because of course we can't send everyone abroad for everything!
Hello
You have a good point there!!!
