Denver Plastic Surgeon Warns Against Medical Tourism

With 300,000 Americans expected to fly to a foreign country for a medical procedure this year - more than double last year's numbers - the burgeoning industry of medical tourism is on the rise. Patients are often drawn to exotic locations like Southeast Asia, Mexico and Costa Rica for surgery at bargain-basement prices. And the procedure most in-demand in these and other tourist-oriented locations is cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Stephen Goldstein, a board-certified plastic surgeon with Denver Face and Body, urges consumers considering cosmetic surgery in Colorado to think twice before they look to a tropical location for breast enhancement, liposuction, Botox injections, laser skin resurfacing and other types of plastic surgery.
