How about China?

Dear Blog master,
Glad to find your informative blog. My wife and I are considering a
trip to China and having some cosmetic/dental work done there. I noticed
many medical trip sources as well as your blog recommended many countries
but gave very few comments on China. Is it because you don't know much
about the healthcare industry in that country, or you don't think China is
a applicable medical trip destination for a certain reason? I do need your
advice. Thanks a lot.

I'd be careful about China

On December 2nd, 2007 David Williams says:

I don't know enough about China to recommend having work done there. I do know that quite a lot of Chinese people go to Korea to have cosmetic work done.

What I do know about Chinese health care system does concern me somewhat. In particular, I'm worried about the Wild West atmosphere as I've written about on the Health Business Blog. See:

I'm sure there are good plastic surgeons and dentists in China, but I'd make sure you have someone you can really trust before committing to treatment. I wouldn't trust anything you haven't seen yourself.
