Gill Kamaljeet Singh is General Manager of the International Business Development Unit for Singapore's National Healthcare Group or NHG. Gill took a group of international media on a tour of NHG's Tan Tock Seng Hospital recently. Before the tour he gave us this introduction to health care in Singapore and NHG specifically. Kevin Tan, Assistant Head of the Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology Sciences group with Singapore's Economic Development Board spoke Monday about Singapore's biomedical strategy and the interrelationship between health care delivery and research. The country's overall strategy to be a biomedical hub strengthens its position as a medical travel destination, especially for complex procedures and treatments.

Jim Plouffe, Editor in Chief for Reader's Digest, Asia, addressed foreign media in Singapore this morning. He shared the results of a pan-Asian survey of health care consumers and its implications for Singapore. He was introduced by Felicia Tan of SingaporeMedicine.
